The Highlands neighborhood is a quiet, family friendly community in Northeast Columbia, South Carolina. Established in 1995 with only 99 lots, the Highlands neighborhood has grown over the years to incorporate 349 lots. Each resident is automatically a member of the Highlands Property Owners Association and is encouraged to be involved with the association, participate in neighborhood events, and volunteer where he or she feels led and able. The goals of the HPOA Board of Directors are to build community relationships, promote safety and security, maintain and improve the amenities, and keep the Highlands beautiful by enforcing the covenants of the association.

The HPOA is committed to sponsoring many family friendly events throughout the year for residents to enjoy including an Easter egg hunt, summer cookouts, Back to School Bash, and more!
Along with secured amenities, the HPOA has an established relationship with local law enforcement. Our residents proudly look out for each other's properties and the common areas and report any concerns as they arise. The HPOA is currently working with Dominion Energy to upgrade lighting in the neighborhood.
Our neighborhood has some wonderful amenities including two tennis courts, a playground with swings, two picnic shelters, a large pool, and cabana. We seek to keep our amenities clean, in good repair, and up to date.
We strive to keep our neighborhood charm by maintaining our amenities, common spaces, and roads as well as encouraging residents to be good stewards of their personal properties through proper lawn and home maintenance.
